Varaldsøy

This island pearl in the middle of the Hardangerfjord has a unique vegetationwith, among other things, Northern Europe’s largest Yew tree.

Here you can visit the old mines, the old country courtyard, and the largest church in Kvinnherad (1885).

You can get to the island with a car ferry from either Løfallstrand or Gjermundshamn.
