Husnes

Situated at the entrance of the Hardangerfjord and is the largest village in Kvinnherad with about 2500 inhabitants. The village is the main shopping and school centre in the borough with several large shopping centres.

The growth of the society of Husnes is mainly the result of the establishment of Sør-Norge Aluminium AS in the 1960s.

The Søral Park is a mere 10 to 15 minutes walk from the centre, and here you will find football, golf, tennis, and volleyball pitches. The Husnes boat harbour is also to be found here, and in 2005 the national newspaper Dagbladet gave it the title as the best in the country.

Attractions are the Jonas Lie memorial by the cultural house, Onarheim Farm, and the magical “Concordia” monument in the middle of the roundabout on the road going into Husnes.
