Rosendal

This village is surrounded by the southernmost alpine massif of the country: the Rosendal Alps, which offer splendid walking experiences. The Barony of Rosendal(1665), the only barony in the country and Scandinavia’s smallest castle, is the greatest tourist attraction in the village. Here you can experience theatre, concerts, exhibitions, and guided tours n the castle.

Rosendal Church, a stone church from about 1250AD, should also be seen.

A brand new attraction is the Stone Park. This embraces a large amount of the geology on the Folgefonn Glacier Peninsular with rocks in their natural and refined forms, and with rocks which are over 2000 million years old.

In the centre of Rosendal you will find several art galleries, cafes, and small shops.
